Get to know the BBJ's 2020 Leaders in Diversity Award winners

In the last week, Baltimore has joined other cities in taking up the call for racial equality, with thousands pouring into city streets to protest for equal treatment of African Americans and other people or color under the law. It’s purely by coincidence that we’ve picked this week, after such pivotal and powerful demonstrations against police brutality, to honor the business executives, nonprofit leaders and others who are helping make the region a more inclusive, equitable place to work. But it couldn’t be better timed.

In this special edition for our 2020 Leaders in Diversity Awards, you’ll read about attorneys working to lift up African American, LGBTQ and other minority associates in their firms; of arts and cultural leaders pushing to celebrate Baltimore’s underrepresented; of a banker who’s forged unprecedented bonds with a county’s Korean business community.

Awardees included members Andy Kim, First Vice President and Relationship Manager, M&T Bank and Franklyn Baker, President and CEO, United Way of Central Maryland.
