Board creates Brad Sell Community Fund
The Community Foundation of Washington County MD Inc. recently created the Brad Sell Community Fund in honor of the past president and CEO.
Sell retired from the foundation in May after 16 years. When he began his career there, the organization had $5.7 million in assets; it has grown to $40 million today. The foundation has distributed $2 million in grants and scholarships each of the past four years.
Sell was instrumental in creating many programs during his 16 years, including the Waltersdorf-Henson Endowment Challenge, Clear Spring Challenge and Washington County Gives. During his retirement, he plans to spend more time with his family, travel and volunteer at his church.
“I am humbled that the board (of trustees) would create a fund at the foundation in my name,” Sell said in a news release. “It is an honor to know that the Brad Sell Community Fund will play a small part in meeting the most pressing future needs in our community.”
