Washington Grantmakers - Planning for Impact

Washington Grantmakers - Planning for Impact

Tuesday, May 10, 2011, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Organized by our colleagues at Washington Grantmakers, this grantmaking practice workshop may be of interest. Cost: $125.

Is your foundation making the difference you thought it would?

Although all grantmakers strive for measurable impact, getting there takes some work and planning. Navigating the labyrinth of philanthropic action for impact requires a deliberate strategy, a clearly defined rationale, and intentional action.

Join Washington Grantmakers and the Maryland Philanthropy Network of Small Foundations to learn new strategies designed to prepare your foundation for making a meaningful and measurable impact. Co-facilitators Holli Rivera, President of Intentional Philanthropy, LLC, and Sara Beggs, Senior Program Manager at the Maryland Philanthropy Network of Small Foundations, will guide you through the essential questions to help you formulate a clear and thoughtful plan for achieving your desired impact, a key step for effectively putting your foundation's many resources to use.

This workshop will allow for hands-on work in small groups, peer mentoring, and coaching from faculty. By the end, you will have the skills and confidence to bring this framework and discussion back to your board.
