Nonprofit and Funder Convening on Federal Policy Impacts and Sector Responses

Nonprofit and Funder Convening on Federal Policy Impacts and Sector Responses

Thursday, July 31, 2025, 2:00 - 3:30 PM

Join Maryland Philanthropy Network and Maryland Nonprofits for a joint member convening to learn about federal policy impacts on nonprofits and perspectives around the philanthropic response. Grounded in a spirit of solidarity, this convening will feature a presentation by Candid researcher Anna Koob who will share important new research on nonprofits’ financial resiliency and foundation funding trends in recent years for Maryland as well as across the nation. This program will include nonprofit and funder panel discussions to share experiences about how they are adapting to rapid changes in the current political climate.

MPN will share information about the philanthropic response highlighting the efforts of two member foundations. Amy Gross, President of the France-Merrick Foundation, and Dr. Sarah Manekin, Program Director with The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, will share how their foundations are supporting nonprofits while navigating today’s resource challenges and shifts in the current political climate. They will discuss how grantmaking practices are changing along with how philanthropy and nonprofits can be supportive at this time.

We will also share insights about what we are seeing across the sector as a whole.

This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members, Maryland Nonprofit members, and invited guests.
