Join Jan Rivitz of the Aaron Straus and Lillie Straus Foundation for a Member Sponsored briefing featuring Centro SOL: Center for Salud and Opportunity for Latinos at Johns Hopkins.  We have heard it said, “change moves at the speed of trust”, and this statement describes the heart of the team and the mission of Centro SOL.  Centro SOL brings together health professionals, projects and community to promote health in the Latino Community through innovative programs focused on:

  1. YOUTH
    • Summer programs and STEM activities
    • Teen pregnancy prevention
  2. MENTAL HEALTH 
    • Testimonios: Group therapy sessions for uninsured immigrant adults.
    • Teen Testimonios: Serving unaccompanied minors in Baltimore City Schools
  3. ACCESS TO CARE
    • > 2,500 uninsured Latino adults served in 2015 through Centro SOL/Community partnerships
    • Latino Family Advisory Board: Enhancing the quality of care for Latino families
    • Latino Health Policy Workgroup: Improving health equity for Latinos at the local, state, and national level
