Crisis Care in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Systems

Crisis Care in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Systems

Tuesday, October 11, 2011, 2:00 - 3:00 PM

Baltimore Mental Health Systems (BMHS) and Baltimore Substance Abuse Systems (bSAS) will discuss crisis care for Baltimore City residents with mental health and/or substance use disorders. The goal of crisis services are to prevent crises, resolve crises at the lowest level of care possible, and ensure that individuals are connected to adequate treatment and support services following a crisis. Furthermore, effective crisis services prevent avoidable outcomes such as unnecessary hospitalization and arrest, and the associated costs. BMHS and bSAS will present a model of a comprehensive crisis behavioral health care continuum that they have designed for Baltimore City.

This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members and partners only; co-hosted by the Mental Health Funders Working Group and Substance Abuse Treatment Affinity Groups.
