Asset Framing with Trabian Shorters

Asset Framing with Trabian Shorters

Tuesday, October 28, 2025, 12:00 - 2:30 PM

Baltimore’s Promise and Maryland Philanthropy Network welcome Trabian Shorters to facilitate a workshop on Asset-Framing, an award-winning cognitive framework coined by him in 2013 when he was Vice President of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Asset-Framing® helps social impact leaders to apply social psychology to achieve greater social impact without relying on fear or stigma to engage people.

As founding CEO of BMe Community, Mr. Shorters has taught Asset-Framing® to 30,000+ corporate, philanthropic, and social impact leaders in 7 countries. Many have used it to unite people across political and cultural divides, raise more money, change policies, media, and multiply their impact. This groundbreaking approach is more than a methodology—it is a paradigm shift with profound implications for philanthropy:

  • Redefining Perception: Asset-Framing® challenges deficit-based thinking, fostering narratives that center aspirations and strengths rather than shortcomings.
  • Catalyzing Sustainable Change: By shifting focus to aspirations and contributions, this framework fuels deeper engagement and long-term impact.

During this interactive workshop, participants will learn about the approach and examples of how others have achieved greater success and discuss applications to their work.

This program is generously sponsored by the Annie E. Casey Foundation for members and invited guests of Baltimore’s Promise and Maryland Philanthropy Network only. Lunch will be served.
