In this joint program of the Prenatal to Five and Education Funders Affinity Groups, funders will get a clear picture of the statewide landscape and learn how early childhood parenting supports directly influence children’s learning journeys, beginning at birth.
Join Maryland Philanthropy Network for an expanded opportunity for all MPN members to convene in our State Capitol for our annual Philanthropy Summit (formerly known as Day in Annapolis). Members will receive updates from state policy makers and sector leaders on the 2026 legislative session. The Columbia Association (CA) and the Community Foundation of Howard County (CFHoCo) are proud to announce a new partnership to support the Howard County community through a significant grant initiative. This collaboration underscores the commitment of both organizations to promoting social welfare and addressing the needs of residents. Under the terms of the agreement, CA will provide CFHoCo with a grant of $125,000 to be distributed during the Community Foundation’s open Community Grants Program this year.
Child poverty in the U.S. has surged, nearly tripling from 5% in 2021 to 13% in 2024. This dramatic increase follows the expiration of pandemic-era economic policies and rising prices that have strained family budgets nationwide. However, a new report from the Annie E. Casey Foundation underscores the profound impact of public policies and programs, demonstrating their capacity to cut child poverty in half.
