So far this year we've heard from a number of public health experts and local leaders at the forefront of the COVID-19 vaccine efforts across the state as well as funders who have taken up advocacy efforts to support this huge undertaking during these bi-weekly calls. Join your Maryland Philanthropy Network colleagues for a chance to reflect on our recent COVID-19 programs, discuss actions you've taken, outstanding questions you may have, and to continue to process how philanthropy can best support communities in this particularly challenging time.
The Public Health Emergency [PHE] declared by the federal government in response to COVID-19 will end on May 11, 2023. The PHE gave the federal government flexibilities to waive or modify certain requirements in a range of areas, including in the Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP programs and in private health insurance, as well as to allow for the authorization of medical countermeasures and to provide liability immunity to providers who administer services. Once the PHE is declared over, state Medicaid agencies will begin the process of unwinding the flexibilities that the PHE offered. The Medicaid eligibility for all recipients will be reviewed, likely resulting in the loss of coverage for millions of individuals and families.
This event is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members and invited guests only.

Out of an abundance of caution and the networking nature of this event, we have decided to cancel our Open House.
After a delay of 27 months, we are pleased to finally host an open house for members at our office space in Baltimore’s Hampden neighborhood! Our customized 4,000-square-foot office features a polished and comfortable conference room (twice the size as our old one), casual meeting areas, an open kitchen, and over 100 feet of gallery space. During the open house, we invite you to tour our offices and convening spaces, experience our first art installations - The Photographer is Listening by Edwin Remsberg and Positive Connection by G.M. Webb, all while enjoying light fare with friends and colleagues as we establish the new center for philanthropy in Maryland.

At this Focus on City Schools (FOCS), City Schools' Christopher R. No matter where your organization might be or want to be on the spectrum of impact investing, join Maryland Philanthropy Network, and the Chesapeake Bay Funders Network for an opportunity to learn and share your experience with other funders. Toniic, a community of funders and asset holders seeking deeper net impact across a spectrum of capital, will also provide an overview of the many types and approaches grant makers can use to leverage capital for good. We will then hold a funder-only discussion to assess interest in a funder learning cohort specific to our region and/or the many opportunities emerging in the agriculture, climate, and food sectors.
