The Loyola School is an independent Catholic pre-school and elementary school founded in the Jesuit tradition of academic learning, personal care, and spiritual growth. The School is committed to providing the children of low-income Baltimore City families a unique education characterized by individual support, parent involvement, and scholarships being awarded to all children who are accepted. The School celebrates the joy of learning in its young boys and girls and its year-round program is open to children of all faiths. The Development Office seeks a team player to join its staff as Associate Director of Development at this exciting time in the School’s history as it constructs and opens its new elementary school building in 2024.

The successful Associate Director of Development will:

  • understand and support the mission of The Loyola School.
  • contribute to executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy in cultivation, prospect research, major gifts, planned giving, corporate matches, and stewardship.
  • demonstrate strong leadership, mentorship, and team-participation skills necessary for collaboration with colleagues and constituencies as well as the ability to work independently.
  • collaborate to execute goal-driven development plans for the annual fund, scholarships, grants, and targeted initiatives like Giving Tuesday.
  • become knowledgeable in the management of donor/prospect information, gift processing, acknowledgement, accounting, data collection, and reporting.
  • partner in marketing and communications initiatives in print, digital, and online platforms.
  • actively engage with School leadership and participate in the life of the school and community.
  • exhibit competency with fundraising software and database management tools and the ability to learn the School’s Little Green Light.
  • perform other duties as assigned.
  • seek professional growth to remain current with development initiatives.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree plus at least 3 years related work experience preferably in fundraising, sales, or project management although the School remains fully open to candidates from other fields who demonstrate a passion for the mission and the work of the School.

  • excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills as well as the ability to be highly organized and attentive to detail.
  • strong technology skills with proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suites.
